The forum was run as a moderated question and answer session and was broadcasted live using Viocorp’s live stream technology, Viostream.  An interactive chat feature allowed viewers to submit questions to the moderator throughout the broadcast.

Bridie Barry, Sky News & Media Week

Bridie Barry is a Sky Business News presenter, a presenter on the Sky Business “Media Week” program.  Bridie joined Sky News in 2006 as a producer on the channel's main news desk, before moving to the business team in June this year. She returned to Australia in 2008 after five years in London working as a producer and reporter at ITN and then the BBC, covering events such as the September 11 attacks and the death of Pope John Paul II. Prior to this, she worked for five years with WIN Television in Queensland as a presenter on the evening news bulletins in Cairns, Townsville and Rockhampton while also reporting on everything from natural disasters to developments in the mining and agricultural industries.

Bridie began her career as a producer at Channel 9 in Brisbane while completing a BA in Journalism and Government at the University of Queensland.

Mark Scott, Managing Director, Australian Broadcasting Corporation 

Mark Scott was appointed Managing Director of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) in 2006.  Prior to his appointment Mr Scott spent almost twelve years in a variety of editorial and executive positions with John Fairfax Publications. From 2003 to 2005 he was Editor-in-Chief, Metropolitan newspapers, and during 2005 became Editor-in-Chief of Metropolitan, Regional and Community newspapers. From November 2005 he was Editorial Director, with responsibility for the management and editorial direction of the newspaper divisions and websites along with the editorial and commercial performance of the Fairfax newspaper magazine division. 
 
Mark Scott holds a Bachelor of Arts, Diploma in Education and a Master of Arts degree in Government from the University of Sydney. During 1992-93 he completed a Masters degree in Public Administration at Harvard University.  
 

James Scott, Managing Director Media & Entertainment, Accenture, Asia Pacific

Mikael Borglund, CEO Beyond International

Mikael Borglund is Managing Director and CEO of Beyond International. Before being one of the founding shareholders of Beyond in 1984, Mikael practiced as a chartered accountant with Touche Ross and Co, M. L Page Harrison and Co and G and S Management Services. Mikael was appointed Managing Director of the Beyond group of companies in 1991, prior to which he was Executive Director – Production, Distribution and Finance. 

Mikael has acted as Executive Producer for hundreds of hours of television programs including Stingers, Halifax fp, Good Guys Bad Guys, Medivac, Fire, Day of the Roses, Wild Life with Olivia Newton John, Beyond Tomorrow (USA), and Just Kidding. Mikael is also the Executive Producer of a number of Award winning feature films such as A Good Woman, Oyster Farmer, Lantana, and Kiss or Kill.

Mikael is a director of the Australian Film Institute, Mariner Retirement Solutions and a former counsellor of SPAA. 

Robert Leach, Head of MCN Connect, Multi Channel Network

Robert Leach is a renowned global expert in the new media landscape of digital television where multi channel choices, time shifted viewing, video on demand and true TV interactivity present consumers with more and more ways to personalise their viewing.  Rob has an in-depth understanding of how advertisers increasingly need to understand and adopt new advertising models to effectively reach their target audiences.

Following an extensive career in media sales, Rob became Controller of Interactive Airtime Sales in September 2000 at BSkyB, with the responsibility for creating and launching Sky's ground-breaking interactive TV advertising services. Rob developed and implemented pioneering sales, pricing, and marketing strategies for this new service.

As Head of Interactive Services for Sky Media from August 2003 he had the additional remit of developing commercial models across all Sky's digital media, including mobile, text, VOD and IPTV.

In October 2006 Rob was lured to MCN in Sydney. He was appointed Head of MCN Connect, the newly formed department responsible for the strategic development and sales of all the digital media on these platforms, including online. 

Chris Albrecht, Editor, NewTeeVee

NewTeeVee.com is a leading global technology blog, focused on online television and video innovations, and the  newest member of the high profile GigaOM family established in 2006.  The GigaOM Network is a business media company linking the world’s leading technology innovators to a global audience of prospective customers, business partners, and investors. The GigaOM Network builds communities, uniting innovators and their partners through online media, events, and research.

Chris spent more than two years as a staff writer and Co-Editor of NewTeeVee, before moving on to head up GigaOM's video initiatives. He has provided commentary on industry issues to NPR and The Wall Street Journal and has moderated panels at several leading conferences. Previously, he spent four years at AtomFilms, finishing his tenure there as Director of Programming.
